A little background on Carroll:

Carroll joined Akara Partners in 2019 as one of the original team members to help launch the Kenect brand in the Nashville and Phoenix markets. Carroll brings 25 years of experience in hospitality/customer service, food and beverage, and hotel management. Her most recent experience comes from 10 years in student housing development starting in 2010.

Carroll’s current role as Director of Leasing and Marketing includes the successful execution of marketing strategies and goals to meet budgeted proforma, operational leasing policies and procedures, staff recruitment, training and motivation, competitor analysis reporting, renewal and resident retention strategies, online reputation management, and overall digital presence. She is actively involved in developing and maintaining major employer relationships and community-business partnerships.

Since 2010 she has been a vital leader in eleven brand-new construction lease-ups, four rebranding acquisitions, and an expansive portfolio of owned and third-party managed properties. She has supported a combined portfolio of over 50,000 beds in over 30 markets across the United States.

In 2015, Carroll was one of five team members to help launch University Student Living, now known as Michaels Student Living. The new construction lease-ups had an average of 650 beds per property and all opened at 95-100% with an 11-month lease-up.

Carroll received a Bachelor of Science in Community Leadership and Development with a minor in Communication from the University of Kentucky in 2008. She has a strong passion for the arts, and genealogy, and in her free time, she enjoys snow skiing and the great outdoors.
